About The Route Atlas
Honest travel guides, practical itineraries, and realistic costs you can actually plan around.
Hi, I’m Mukesh Chaudhary, the founder of The Route Atlas.
I started The Route Atlas because planning a trip shouldn’t feel like a second job.
Most of us have been there: twenty browser tabs open, three travel blogs showing three different prices, and an itinerary that looks perfect on paper until you realise the attractions are hours apart.
I wanted to create one place where travel advice is clear, costs are realistic, and itineraries actually make sense on the ground.
That’s what The Route Atlas is built to be.
Where it began
My Story
I’ve always loved travelling, but I quickly noticed a problem with the way travel information is often presented online.
When planning a trip, I found myself piecing everything together from scattered forums, outdated articles, and vague claims about what was supposedly “budget-friendly.” The numbers often didn’t match what travellers actually had to spend.
So I started keeping detailed notes on my own trips: what things cost, what was genuinely worth the time and money, how long it took to get from one place to another, and what I would do differently next time.
Friends began asking me for those notes when planning their own trips. Then friends of friends started asking too.
That’s when I realised these notes could help more people.
The Route Atlas is my way of turning those notes into practical travel guides for anyone who wants to plan their own trip with more confidence.
My goal is simple: help you plan smarter, spend wisely, and make the most of your time on the road.
The four pillars
What You'll Find Here
Destination Guides
Practical destination guides covering the best time to visit, how to get there, how to get around, where to stay, what things cost, and what to expect when you arrive.
Things to Do
Handpicked attractions, local experiences, and places worth knowing about, organised so you can quickly find options that match your interests, budget, and available time.
Itineraries
Day-by-day travel plans for short getaways and longer trips, built around realistic travel times so you can spend more time exploring and less time sitting in transit.
Budget & Cost Breakdowns
Clear estimates for accommodation, food, local transport, activities, and other common travel expenses. Where possible, I break costs down by budget, mid-range, and more comfortable travel styles so you can plan according to your own budget.

My Promise to You
Every guide on The Route Atlas is written with one simple goal: to give you the information you actually need to plan a better trip.
I aim to keep things practical, clear, and free from unnecessary fluff.
If a guide helps you save money, avoid a common mistake, make better use of your time, or discover a place you might otherwise have missed, then it has done its job.
Travel plans don’t have to be complicated. You just need the right information in one place.
